Let It Rain!

Flooded Brick RoadRickshaw on Flooded RoadHere in Bangladesh, it’s raining: Today, yesterday, tomorrow. One day, this past week, our rain gauge recorded 2.8 inches; the next day we got 2.6 inches; the next was only 2.4 inches. When the boys reported the figures, Harold gasped, “Oh no. We’re heading into a drought.” But to everyone’s relief, yesterday we got 3.8 inches, and today, well, it’s raining. Hard. When it’s not raining, it’s a heavy day, 100% humidity, and we long for another downpour. Bengali friends agree, “Without the rain, we’d have no rice. Let it rain!”
